Today our speaker was Judy Noyes, a new member, who shared an interesting review of her
life. She was born in Newburyport, Mass. Judy wore a witch's hat to let us know she was a
descendant of Mary Estey, a Salem, Mass witch who was hung in 1692. Judy grew up in Maine
where Dad was an entrepreneur and mother was a teacher who were able to send their three
daughters to college. She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a major in English &
Religion. In 1967, she married Fred and they moved to California. They have a daughter who
lives in Maine. Judy took an accounting course and found she was good at it. She started as a
bookkeeper for a financial manager for family trusts. Computers came along and Judy started to
use them in her work. She went on to work with companies to help them set up their financial
books, She is a member of the Delta Gamma Fraternity. She was very active in their
development and fundraising for the Blind Childrens Center.
In 2006, they retired to Tubac where they had built a home earlier. She was very active in the
Friends of the Presidio who helped fund the Presidio. She joined the Tubac Rotary Club in
2007, where she was Pres and Tres along with working on many fund raising projects. She was
also a member of the Rio Rico Rotary club. She is an avid baseball fan of the Boston Red Sox
