Today our newer member, Judy Lindsey gave us an excursion of her life. Judy was born in
Wooster OH while her parents were in college at College of Wooster. As she grew up, she
participated in many activities and sports. Her father was a pastor, so she lived in several
interesting places when her Dad was called to new churches. She returned to the College of
Wooster where she majored in history. While in college she participated in a program in Sudan
where college students from the US and Africa worked on projects. During her stay, she was
hospitalized and observed the significant need for public health programs. Because of this
experience, she pursued a career in public health.
Judy and Craig married in 1981. They went on to advanced degrees, Judy in Public Health and
Craig became an ordained minister. Again, she was able to live in different areas of the country.
Her public health education brought her to Hospice & Senior Housing. She managed several
Hospice programs. Later in her career, she worked in Real Estate. Judy and Craig have two
sons. A favorite place they enjoyed was their home on Sturgeon Bay in Door County, WI.
They moved to Green Valley when her husband accepted the Pastor position at Valley
Presbyterian Church. She is looking forward to being an active member of the Valle Verde
Rotary club.
-Next week's speaker will be Laura Romera who will give us an update on St Andrew’s clinic.
-Also starting next week, Martin will be offering burritos for $5.
Choices are:
potatoes, egg and cheese, ham and egg and machaca and egg. Please let Charlotte know your choice by Tuesday each week. Pay for the burrito at mtg. Coffee will be available.
