It is with a great deal of sadness this evening that I must report to you that Dr. Peter Eichman recently passed away. Peter was a great man in so many ways and a long time member of the Valle Verde Rotary Club.

When Peter was still attending Rotary meetings he would always prepare a "medical minute/moment" for the membership and I was always impressed how current and spot on the information was for the audience. He could and would explain it so everyone could understand. I think he never stopped reading the latest and greatest developments in the medical field so he could pass them along.

I believe Valle Verde Rotary Club and Rotary projects were a passion for Peter. He was always ready to pitch in on projects involving children such as Birthday books and Dress for Success. In addition he encouraged and assisted the club in awarding each year a scholarship to a student studying in the field of nursing.

Peter loved our club so much he setup "The Peter Eichman Fund" to help insure the future of our club and the projects we do in his honor.

I remember one particular meeting we had a speaker from a shelter for women talking about the work they were doing to help women and their kids get out of dangers situations. Because of Peter and others club members we were able to make a sizeable donation to a very worthy cause.

For those who were fortunate to know Peter you know he was one of the finest humanitarians to set foot on the earth, a wonderful friend and a great great Rotarian. More often than not he gave us a reason to smile.

Peter we will miss you so much and we will continue to make you proud of "your" Rotary Club.
