We survived Thanksgiving and the UA/ASU. Now it is the major push for the holidays.  It doesn't matter if you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas or Kwanza, there is a lot to do especially at Valle Verde Rotary Club.

First, and the least exciting, will be the adoption of our revised bylaws.  PE Jim Rusk will be presiding at this weeks meeting and wants to get this off his plate. Rotarians have worked on them for most of 2014 and now it is up to you to approve them.  Please address any questions you have to Jim Rusk before the meeting.

This Thursday also marks the beginning of our Angel Trees.  We will have two of them this year: one for the Tucson Indian Center and our usual angel tree for the girls at the Madre Conchita home in Nogales, Sonora.  PP Jerry Mendelson will attend our meeting on Dec. 18th and take the presents to the girls. There are a few rules for the Angel Tree: please buy your presents at WalMart and include the receipt in your gift wrapped box.  If you want to include something as a personal present be discrete.  It would be terrible if one girl got the basic present and the girl next to her got something special in her's.  You might want to consider sending some art and craft supplies along that are unwrapped and useable by all. Finally, all of the Mexico bound gifts need to be at the meeting on the 18th.

Thursday, December 11th will be a club assembly.  We have not had one for some time.

Thursday, December 18th will be the annual White Elephant gift exchange. Please bring a white elephant if you want to participate.

Remember it is also the season for bell ringing to help the Salvation Army.  They are short of volunteers this year.  I did not have to sneak in and out of WalMart on Sunday because no one was there to ring the Christmas bell.
